Head Instructor - Brian Hayton
As an Advance Level I certified coach, Brian brings with him an impressive set of credentials in coaching and instructing hockey, which spans over fifteen years.
Brian’s coaching experience includes five years with the Kitchener Rangers of the Ontario Hockey League. He coached at the University of Guelph with their varsity hockey team and at the junior ‘B’ level with the Waterloo Siskins. Brian was also the Head Coach of the Ontario Under 17 Hockey Team that came home with the gold medal winning back-to-back World Championships in 1997 and 1998.
“I am very excited to be joining the Norwood District Hockey Canada Skills Academy,” he says. “The Academy is going to be an outstanding training centre for student athletes to develop their skills as hockey players and as people. I am looking forward to getting out in the community and to the local schools to share more information about this exciting new program.”
